Branch System Transformation
Nationwide

Chartway Federal Credit Union (FCU) was ready to begin implementing changes and updates to their nationwide branch-system. The NewGround design team conducted a Discovery session with the Chartway FCU management team which resulted in an Idea Book that became the basis for their future design. The design included a “kit-of-parts” which were early concepts that covered a variety of different branch sizes and existing conditions across their network. The primary goal of the program is to bring brand, design, and experience consistency across Chartway FCU’s branch system. The changes being carried out include replacing the teller lines with a cash bar or pods in order to introduce and implement the universal banker model, drive-ups will be converted to a completely automated ITM delivery, a full-scale signage plan has been developed to address varying signage needs across the network, the member engagement/waiting area has been given a consistent and updated branded appearance, and employee and off-stage areas have been updated. All these changes will provide a standardized look and feel to each branch whether the member is in Virginia or Utah. NewGround has developed designs for six (6) branches. Two (2) branches have been completed, two (2) are under construction and two (2) are in construction documents.
